Hello Friends of MIT World,
Go to http://mitworld.mit.edu for the newest videos.
The Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research presents
Dr. David Page
"The Evolution of Sex: Rethinking the Rotting Y Chromosome"
David Page's research provides new insights into the future of the Y
Chromosome, and gives new hope that the Y Chromosome is not a
"genetic wasteland" but is really quite resilient. Page's delivery on
this topic is simultaneously serious and humorous, educational and
entertaining, in short, a must-see lecture on a very compelling
topic. Page, a former MacArthur Foundation Prize Fellow, is
Associate Director of Science at the Whitehead Institute and
Professor of Biology at MIT.

The Center for International Studies
CIS Starr Forum presents
Kanan Makiya
"The End of Saddam and the Future of Iraq"
Kanan Makiya is the author of Republic of Fear and The Monument both of which
were written under the pseudonym, Samir al-Khalil.
Now an adviser to Iraq's Interim Governing Council and a member of
the panel working on the drafting of a new Iraqi constitution, Makiya
reflects on the end of the Saddam regime and the documents it left
behind.
