[Mit_energy] The Democratic process needs you

I urge the expert energy community at MIT to attend our local US Army Corps 
of Engineers public hearing (concerning the Nantucket Sound wind 
initiative) Thursday the 16th at MIT.

Since this meeting is at MIT, there is a chance that the evening's agenda 
may take the form of a debate, with interlocutors concisely spelling out 
their position, and minimizing off-topic personal attacks.

However, if you don't come (and sign up for your 2 minutes of presentation 
time) the dialogue will be dominated by zealots from both camps who will 
use incendiary rhetoric to rile up the underinformed and then funnel this 
anger at their opponents without addressing the issues. This is how the 
public discourse has proceeded to date, at any rate.
