Dear Postdoctoral Scholars,

The MIT Science Policy Initiative is organizing and coordinating the 2025 State Visit Days (SVD) on April 14. In this tumultuous time, it is more important than ever to understand all the levers the government has that affect policy. State and local policy in particular gets less coverage but plays an incredibly essential role in the allocation of federal funds, science education/workforce development, anything urban planning, and more. Additionally, due to the lack of state-level and local engagement, your voice can be particularly powerful. During state visit day, you will get a chance to talk to people across various branches of state and local government: senators, representatives, agency executives, and more.

*** Application Deadline: Sunday, April 6th at 11:59PM EST ***

Apply now by filling out this form<https://forms.gle/MZqpT9YEAG7XENJG7> -- space is limited! The event is open to all MIT undergraduate, graduate students, and post-docs. For graduate students / postdocs, we are interested in learning more about your research focus. For undergraduates we're interested in learning more about your research experience(s) or major (or intended major) scientific emphasis as applicable. Unfortunately, cross-registered students are NOT eligible to apply.

Contact SVD chair Anoushka Tamhane at anoutam at mit.edu<mailto:anoutam at mit.edu> with questions or concerns. Decisions will be communicated by April 8th at the latest.

We look forward to reading your applications!

Best,
Your SVD Chair,
Anoushka Tamhane
