Virtual talk: Bias in Academia, Wednesday, August 12

Dear MIT Postdocs,
You are invited to attend a Zoom talk organized by the MIT Postdoctoral Association (PDA), where Gibor Basri from UC Berkeley will speak on “Bias in Academia” on 12 August 2020 at 4pm EDT. Gibor Basri is an astrophysics professor at UC Berkeley. He received his PhD in astrophysics from University of Colorado at Boulder. During his academic career, he has worked extensively on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. He also served as the vice chancellor for equity and inclusion of the UC Berkeley campus. The talk will cover his reflection on diversity, equity, and inclusion practices in academia and tips for postdocs on how to become future mentors and leaders. After the talk, Gibor will answer questions from the audience.
