Forwarded announcement from Dain Goding, Assistant to the Executive Director of Arts Initiatives (dain at mit.edu<mailto:dain at mit.edu> | arts.mit.edu<http://arts.mit.edu/>):

Request by Associate Provost for the Arts Philip S. Khoury for an incoming postdoc who would be interested in joining the Creative Arts Council (CAC) as a representative. CAC is a group of arts leaders on campus (including faculty and administration) who regularly meet to discuss the ways in which to advance the role of the arts at a research institute such as MIT. We are looking for a postdoc in a science or engineering field who is involved or interested in some aspect of artistic practice on campus.

CAC meets three times per semester, from 10am-12pm on Wednesday mornings in the Stella Conference Room (room 7-338). For AY 2018-19, the following dates have been selected:

Wed., Sept. 12
Wed., Oct. 17
Wed., Dec. 5
Wed., Feb 13
Wed., March 20
Wed., Apr. 24

Particular issues that we may seek input about could include the use of the new theater arts building, spreading the word about arts programs and maker spaces on campus, and effective ways to communicate about the arts at MIT to current and prospective students through social media and video.

If you are interested in joining CAC, please submit a CV and brief note of introduction to Danna Solomon <dsolomon at mit.edu<mailto:dsolomon at mit.edu>> letting us know your department and letting us know of your interest in the arts. All candidates’ applications will be reviewed by Executive Director of Arts Initiatives Leila Kinney, and we will then be in touch.
