*Feb.12: Converting Your CV into a 2-Page Resume

Location: 4-163. *If you are considering exploring Industry positions, 
you will need to have a resume that effectively positions you for this 
path. This workshop will discuss the process of converting your 4-6 page 
CV into a 2 page resume for industry, and creating a document that 
effectively targets the Hiring Manager. Can your resume survive a 15 
second scan and still get into the YES pile? Discussions will surround 
the strategies of effective messaging and how to be "on-point" with your 
written communication.**

New England University Transportation Center. /Showcasing transportation 
research carried out at MIT, with opportunities to discuss ideas for 
future research and connect with possible future research collaborators.

pm - 2:00 pm. Location: 32-144*. Come learn the essential components of 
a strong resume from a career expert.**

*Feb 23: Evaluating, Negotiating & Accepting Positions 
<http://gecd.mit.edu/mit-events/event/16478855?month=2016-02>. 5:00 pm - 
6:30 pm. Location: 4-163. *Sometimes making a decision and committing to 
an internship or job opportunity is hard. How can you be sure the offer 
is the best one for you? How can you convey an interest in the position 
and ask for more time? How do you balance multiple interview processes 
and offer deadlines that do no align? In this session we will cover: - 
Recruiting expectations for students and employers. - How to effectively 
communicate with employers if you have questions or need more time to 
make a decision. - Evaluating offers and the decision making process. - 
Making a commitment and what it expected. Participants are encouraged to 
send their specific questions in advance to Tamara Menghi at 
trmenghi at mit.edu to be incorporated in this workshop content and

ways LinkedIn can help your career exploration and job search. *

*Feb 25: Academic Interviewing and Offers

Location: 32-144. *Faculty panelists will address the process of 
searching for academic positions, effective interview strategies, and 
how to successfully navigate this process. Academic job offer 
negotiation will also be discussed.

*March 2: 5th annual MIT**Postdocs Share Their Science and Vendor Fair* 
*from 11 - 2pm at Morss Hall* (Walker Memorial, 50-140). This event, 
*sponsored by the MIT Postdoctoral Association*, allows postdocs from 
all fields to share their research with the MIT community by presenting 
posters. This event is also combined with a vendor fair, where you can 
talk with representatives from your favorite companies.

*March 2: Ph.D. & MASTER'S Virtual Career Fair*, open to MIT postdocs,
