Dear MIT Postdocs,

I would like to invite you to participate in a study titled “Development of
a universal rubric for scientific presentations”. The aim of the study is
to create and validate a rubric, which can serve as a guide for the
development of scientific presentations in any discipline, and also as a
tool for evaluating and scoring scientific presentations.

As a participant in this study, you will be required to score up to 6
videotaped presentations with a rubric created during this study. Each
presentation will be no more than 20 min long. After scoring of the
presentations, you will be required to participate in a discussion about
your perception of the rubric’s usefulness as an evaluating tool and also
as a guide for preparing future presentations. All evaluators will be
required to sign a confidentiality agreement that prohibits sharing of any
information about specific research projects and the rubric evaluation
process. Access to the final version of the rubric will be provided to you
upon request.

Participation in this study is voluntary and you are free to withdraw from
the study at any time.

*If you are interested in participating, or if you need more information,
please contact the study investigator, Osasere Evbuomwan, at
osaseree at mit.edu <osaseree at mit.edu>. *

Thank you in advance for your participation.
