Dear Postdocs,
I would strongly encourage any female postdoc interested in having an impact on the MIT community life to apply for this exciting position!
The time involvement is minimal, compared to the reward of interacting with a group of highly intelligent and skilled women from all walks of the MIT ecosystem. It’s limited to a couple of hours formal roundtable presence every 2-3 months.; unless of course one wants to champion a topic or become more involved and support others; in which case sky is the limit!
I found this a unique experience, rewarding me with a strong sense of fulfilment, as I realized the importance of giving the postdoc women and their families a voice within one of MIT’s oldest and most impactful communities. And to stress MIT’s recognition of the work of this group and its’ members, just this morning I was honored by a letter from President Reif for the contribution as postdoc rep over the last 2 years.
Wishing every success to those of you who find it in their hearts to make a difference.
BR- Magda Papadaki

The Ombuds Office will confirm the selection and request the initiation of an appointment letter from the President's Office. In addition to the attached document, the following shows the current membership and would give a prospective member an idea of which MIT groups are represented on the committee.
