To MIT faculty, staff, and students:
On *Tuesday, October 28, 2014*, Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the 
National Institutes of Health, will visit our campus to deliver the Karl 
Taylor Compton lecture, "Exceptional Opportunities in Biomedical 
Research." The event, hosted and moderated by President L. Rafael Reif, 
will take place at 3:30 pm in *Huntington Hall (10-250)* 
<http://whereis.mit.edu/?go=10>. All community members are invited to 
attend the lecture; no tickets are required.
Since their inception in 1957, the Compton lectures 
<http://compton.mit.edu/> have brought to our campus leaders noted for 
their universality of thought and their influence on human values. I 
hope you will join me, President Reif, and the Compton Lecture Series 
Committee on Tuesday to welcome Dr. Collins to MIT.
