Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is a well-established, mid-sized biotechnology company located in Cambridge, MA pioneering the translation of siRNA into a new class of therapeutics. We are looking for a well-developed post-doc/immunologist to drive our immune stimulation platform efforts within our lead optimization organization. With one tech, the Immunoassay Development lead will adopt and optimize existing screens, and do follow on in vivo work in order to evolve the overall platform. An understanding of innate immunity would be ideal, but it not required; the ability to leverage the literature and collaborations to elucidate a complex area as we work toward systemic delivery of siRNA is a must. Top-notch publications, great interpersonal skills, outstanding presentation skills are key. Most of all, we need a true contributor who has significant cell-based screening experience.

Immunoassay Development Lead – RNAi Lead Development

The RNAi Lead Development (RLD) Team is seeking a highly motivated cellular immunologist with proven abilities in the development, design, execution, supervision, analysis, interpretation, and communication of immunology in vitro and in vivo assays in a screening environment. The Immunoassay Development (IAD) Lead will develop, optimize, and implement medium to high throughput oligonucleotide-based immunoassays to screen a variety of candidate RNAi compounds and delivery modalities and manage a significant volume of in vitro cell biology activities

Responsibilities include:
• Strategic planning and coordination of activities
• Management of junior staff
• Hands-on assay development and execution
• Literature review
• Timely delivery of presentations
The individual will work closely with multiple project teams across various therapeutic areas.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish top-notch collaboration(s) with the goals of augmenting existing resources in support of various projects and partnerships and driving provocative, highly publishable research.

Key Requirements
• Ph.D. in Immunology (highly preferred), or a related field.
• At least six years experience in immunoassay development and tissue culture.
• Expertise in in vivo modeling is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of methods such as ELISA, ELISpot, FACS analysis, taqman and PBMC assays is required.
• Experience with medium to high throughput screening and automation preferred.
• Superior communication, organization, follow-through, and presentations skills are a must.
