The German Government is recruiting foreign scientists to do research 
in Germany. They have chosen the upcoming European Career Fair as the 
time for their information session for MIT students. 22 German 
Universities and research organizations will be presenting.

RESEARCH IN GERMANY - LAND OF IDEAS
Information - Session (Grad Students and Postodcs Invited) (Sat., 
Feb. 3 - details below)
NEW INITIATIVES - NEW OPPORTUNITIES

Aimed to strengthen international competitiveness and to promote 
top-level research, several new reforms and initiatives like the 
Excellence Initiative and the Higher Education Pact opened the door 
to new professional opportunities at German universities and research 
institutions.

This information session will focus on current developments in higher 
education in Germany and new opportunities that will be generated by 
the Excellence Initiative and other projects. 1.9 billion Euro is 
available for institutions of higher education within this framework 
until the year 2011.

Hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, 
representatives from major German research organizations and top 
universities will present new opportunities for young scholars and 
scientists.

Refreshments will be served.
