Biosynthetic Chemist

Overview of Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate will be responsible for developing novel
coupling strategies for attaching small molecules, proteins, and
antibodies to polymer-coated nano-materials. You will be responsible
for producing, characterizing, and optimizing conjugates, and will
participate in assay development and optimization.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in bioorganic chemistry or biochemistry is required. Must have
demonstrated expertise in biosynthetic coupling reactions, protein
and antibody conjugation, and development of new synthetic
strategies. Experience in conjugating targeting groups to
nano-materials, and experience in custom solution-phase and
solid-phase syntheses is required. Expertise in spectroscopic and
chemical characterization of synthetic products, bioconjugates, and
functionalized nano-materials using various chromatographies, mass
spectrometry, NMR, etc. is also required. The qualified candidate
will be a creative problem solver, fast learner, and an effective
communicator. Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

Synthetic Inorganic Chemist

Overview of Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include synthesizing nano-materials and polymer
coatings, developing new synthetic approaches, conducting quality
control, characterizing nano-material products, and developing stable
colloids.

Minimum Requirements:

MS in synthetic or physical chemistry plus five years industrial
experience. Proficient in micro-emulsions and surface reactions.
Experience with organometallics, polymer synthesis and tailoring
reaction conditions to control product characteristics. Analytical
expertise in nano-material characterization, including measuring
metal content, physical properties, size, stability, and viscosity.
Analytical skills include visible spectroscopy, liquid
chromatography, and metal content analyses. Creative problem solver,
fast learner, and effective communicator. Flexible and able to work
in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.

Electrical Engineer

Overview of Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team
developing novel nanoparticle-based detection technology. You will
oversee the design and fabrication of novel, miniaturized circuits
and medical diagnostic electronics, and develop custom automated
sampling strategies and customized instrument hardware.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in electrical engineering plus a minimum of two years industrial
experience, and a strong fundamental understanding of electronics and
engineering designs. Specific expertise in automation and in
miniaturized electronics for instrumentation is essential. Must be
experienced with hardware design, modification and programming.
Experience in rf-based detection a plus. Must be willing and able to
quickly learn new concepts. The qualified candidate must be a
creative problem solver, an effective communicator, and must be
flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must
have demonstrated ability in meeting deadlines.

Medical Device Engineer/Hardware Engineer

Overview of Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate will work with a multidisciplinary team
developing novel nanoparticle-based detection technology. You will
oversee the design and fabrication of novel, miniaturized medical
diagnostic devices, and develop customized instrument hardware.

Minimum Requirements:

PhD in an engineering discipline plus a minimum of two years relevant
experience, and a strong, fundamental understanding of equipment
design. Specific expertise in magnetic-based device design,
construction, and modeling required. Must be experienced with
hardware design, modification and programming. Experience in
rf-based detection and device manufacturing is not necessary but is a
plus. Must be willing and able to quickly learn new concepts. The
qualified candidate must be a creative problem solver, an effective
communicator, and must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced,
dynamic environment. Must have demonstrated ability in meeting
deadlines.

Research Associate, Assay Development

Primary Responsibilities:

This position requires the successful candidate to perform the
appropriate experiments in the development of assays for use with our
novel nanoparticle-based detection technology. The candidate will
work independently, and will be called upon to direct the work of
technicians as required.

Minimum Requirements:

BS or equivalent in the biological sciences and 1-2 years of industry
experience.

Ability to follow protocols and work independently.

Excellent experimental technique and record-keeping are absolutely essential.

Previous experience in assay development is a plus.

Some knowledge of the FDA QSR system and Design of Experiments is desirable.

Director, Assay Development

Overview of Responsibilities:

The qualified candidate will manage a group of four assay developers
and two engineers in the development of two point of care assays
utilizing a novel nanoparticle-based detection technology. The
incumbent will manage a development group of six headcount and work
in a matrix organization comprising marketing, technical consultants
and OEM suppliers.

Minimum Requirements: The successful candidate will have a PhD in
the biological sciences, postdoctoral experience, and the equivalent
of 2-5 years in industry. Demonstrated success in product development
is essential. The successful candidate must be familiar with the FDA
Quality System Regulations (QSR), critical path management, and the
application of Design of Experiment (DOE) to assay development. The
incumbent must be able to independently manage the development team,
make critical decisions on project direction, and communicate
effectively with management.
