*Constitution*
*One thing that is missing from your group's constitution is a quorum for a
meeting. Typically, a quorum is best defined as a percentage/fraction of
your group's membership.*
*1/2 of exec is quorum (currently 5 out of 10)*
* Also, it is unclear how new officers are actually selected/voted on. Your
constitution right now just says that their selections happen, but doesn't
explain how.*
*Prospective officers must submit an application to the current exec board
and go to an interview with the President. The President then leads a
discussion and evaluation of the candidates with the current exec board and
new candidates are chosen by unanimous decision of the exec board.*
* Furthermore, your explanation of how decisions are made, including most
especially amendments to the constitution, is virtually non-existent.
"Group discussion" is not a sufficient explanation. You should have
something like "Amendments need [fraction] of members present" or something
similar. This should be similarly done for general decisions made for the
group.*
*Amendments and other general decisions need at least quorum present to be
voted on and need a 4/5 majority in order to pass.*
* Finally, it is a bit disconcerting that your group's officers can stay in
there "until graduation or resignation". Typically, terms of office are
best limited to "one year from being elected", or "from one election to the
next", or something similar.*
*Officers are to be reviewed by the President at the end of each year. If
it is determined that they have not met the commitments of their position
as outlined above in this constitution, then they are brought to a full
board review where the majority of the exec (excluding the person under
review) decides whether or not the officer should be retained for future
terms.*
