Hello!
I came across your email address on your school's Habitat for Humanity web site and am writing to tell you about an exciting program called Bike & Build, which may be of interest to members of your Habitat chapter.
Bike & Build produces long-distance bicycle tours - exclusively for young adults, ages 18-24 - that raises funds for and national awareness of affordable housing efforts. We are currently accepting applications for our 2005 programs, and I would like to ask for your help in reaching students who may be interested in spending their summer outdoors with us.
Our trips combine service, adventure, and travel. In the past we've had several participants from collegiate Habitat for Humanity chapters take part in our program. Beyond the universal benefits of these trips, participants learn about other affordable housing groups, get experience working on different build sites across the country and help spread the word about the need for affordable housing.
Would you please forward the attached message to your group's email list and any other distribution lists or individuals that you know who may be interested in joining our program this summer? I appreciate any help you'd be able to lend to promoting our organization.
If you have any questions about Bike & Build, I encourage you to contact us - either me personally at this email address, or the head office at info at bikeandbuild.org, or 212-663-2040.
Best regards,
Catherine
P.S. We also invite your Habitat chapter to receive funding for up to $10,000, as part of a nationwide grant system being executed this year by Bike & Build. More information is available at http://www.bikeandbuild.org/grants/grants.html
