Hi Sherry,
Sorry we didn't get back to you.
So far, it looks like we're not having any events this summer. There aren't
enough people around. If there is interest, we might be able to plan
workdays with a local affiliate.
However, I know I will be doing stuff on my own, so if you're interested
let me know.
For one, I will be making a trip with a ROTC group from RIT in late August
(No, I'm not ROTC, but a friend of mine, who is attending RIT, is and
invited me along). They said I could bring a few other MIT people with me,
so if you wanted, you could come on that (details are below). So far, it's
just me who's going on the trip, and I haven't worked out transportation yet.
When: August 23-28
Where: Exmore, VA. The area is apparently very poor, with much poverty housing.
How much: $115 per person, which covers a place to stay (church), 2 meals,
registration, and building materials
I will also be trying to make trips to various sites in the area to help
out. I can keep you posted on any plans I make if you'd like.
I don't have the contact info for the affiliates on me right now, but I can
ask the volunteer coordinators to send you that info, if you'd like to plan
something on your own.
Thanks for your interest!
