Hello,
Did you get an answer?
My thought is that the person begins working on a doc and at some point excel wakes up and says ‘wait a minute, the permissions are wrong’.
We are a mac office and have an IS&T file share. When someone in the office creates a folder on her desktop and then drops that folder into a file share folder (which I created as the admin), then permissions are an issue. The dropped in folder does not have the correct permissions.
The easiest solution is for the admin or the person who created the 'user desktop created folder' to copy it down to the desktop, deleted the entire thing from the file share, and then to make a file share folder while signed in to the file share (or have the admin do it). Then drop the docs into the properly created folder. You can also have the permissions for the folder corrected (for me that is not as fast as fixing it myself).
Users who do not have admin access should not be making the primary list of folders. I recall we had an issue with that, though maybe it was a dropped in folder also.
Hope that helps, but maybe yours is a different problem.

I have a user that keeps losing files from the dfs share while working on the document. He is currently working off a Mac desktop and using El Capitan. This issue keeps reoccuring when using excel. He receives the following messages:

Upon receiving the alert it causes excel to freeze, once he exits out the file and tries to locate it on the dfs share it is no longer available. Have anyone experience the same thing or have a fix for this issue?
