[Macpartners] Java for OSX 2013-004 and MATLAB 2012b

Hi Everyone,

We’ve had a couple of cases come in regarding MATLAB 2012b and java updates causing MATLAB to ‘freeze’ and not accept input. The issue has been traced back to the 2013-004 update initially pushed out from Apple last week. They’ve updated the update to correct the issue, however they are not giving it out to systems that have already taken the original. We’ve written up a KB article: http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/x/IwYYCQ that gives more details and solutions. Any Ideas, comments and input would be appreciated. I’m sending this along as it most likely will affect more than just MATLAB and more systems than we see.
