Hi Rocklyn,
I work in the IS&T Service center and am primarily a Macintosh Technician for the shop. To save effort and frustration I would recommend bringing the system in for complete diagnostics using the Apple Service Diagnostics available to service providers. We would also review the system's logs to see if there is anything that would point to the issue. The range of problems that could create an unresponsive system is vast, so a better recommendation would be difficult without the information John Hawkinson requested or a thorough examination of the system.
If you would like to proceed with the Service Center, give us a call at: 617-253-0815. Our diagnostic services are no charge, whether or not its under warranty.
