[Macpartners] Automate opening of fixed width files?

Hello,

I need to find a way to automate opening of fixed width files. The file is not delimited and I am a basic excel user. Other staff will be using this solution to open these files all year long.

I did try recording a macro/template while using the excel interface to designate each field boundary and did create a template. Now I cannot figure out how to open all other files using that template. Why should that be difficult? Maybe I do not see what it is I should do.

I can google and attempt things till the cows come home but I have not found a solution yet.
