[Macpartners] ARD reporting clients as "Offline"

Is anyone else experiencing the following:
Several of our machines are reporting their status as "Offline" even though I can screen control the "Offline" computers (which are very much online). As a result of this offline status, I am unable to install packages to the machines via ARD. I can temporarily perform remote installs by removing an offline machine and re-adding it in ARD, but only long enough to perform one very quick package push.
One machine of primary concern is running 10.6.8 and ARD 3.5.1 from a static IP address.
Is there some trick to getting ARD to accurately determine the status of the machine so I can install the necessary software?
