> MacLearning.org and Apple, Inc. are pleased to announce the offering
> of four regional conferences on teaching and learning using Apple
> technologies. Based on the feedback from an earlier survey on
> travel expenses and budgets, we have jointly decided to offer four
> regional AcademiX 2009 conferences designed to offer opportunities
> for learning and sharing at minimal cost to you or your institution.
>
> We recognize that content needs to align with institutional mission
> and professional responsibilities, so the conference agendas will
> offer practical, as well as inspiring, content for faculty and staff
> who work with or support Apple technologies used for teaching and
> learning. The conference sessions will include inspirational
> thought-leaders offering conceptual models for thinking about what's
> next, presentations about important trends and new technologies, as
> well as panel discussions offering practical case studies on topics
> such as successful iTunes U rollouts, mobile learning initiatives,
> and digital content beyond the LMS.
>
> In addition, we are offering the opportunity for you to share your
> innovative uses of Apple technologies with your colleagues. All
> AcademiX 2009 conferences will conclude with a poster session and
> reception. We ask you to consider submitting a poster abstract
> proposal when you register. And if showcasing what your institution
> is doing is not enough, prizes will be awarded for the Top 3 Posters
> at each conference. Also, for those who need direct, actionable
> knowledge, pre-conference sessions will be offered, too. These
> sessions will be an incredible opportunity for those who support
> Apple technologies to learn directly from Apple Education Consulting
> Engineers.
>
> Times are tight and we understand that budgets for conference travel
> and expenses are constrained, so we designed the conference schedule
> to fit into a single extended day to help reduce or eliminate hotel
> costs. Equally important, all of the regional conferences are
> offered at no cost to attendees, including the optional pre-
> conference lab sessions. Meals will also be provided at no cost, so
> your only expenses may be travel and lodging. (And speaking of
> lodging, we've also worked really hard to obtain great rates for all
> the conference sites.)
