I think Dave was referring to the weight.  I know of a number of  
faculty to which weight is the primary criteria.  And if you can get a  
lighter weight with a larger screen and performance, then all the  
better.  If price is your primary criteria then the MacBook is  
definitely going to be your better match and physically smaller.

If you want it cheaper, go to the refurbished deals on store.apple.com  
or the used macs at the Computer Loft (http://www.computerloft.com/)  
in Allston/Brighton and see what they have available.  The available  
models and pricing vary depending on stock so you'll have to check  
back with them periodically.
