[Macpartners] mail 4.1 how to set/use a Sent folder that's local and not on the imap server?

Patrick & all,

Thank you. I will have the user do this and ensure she's using her Time
Machine for backups.

Storing her sent-mail on the MIT IMAP server is not an option for us
with the recurring quota issues it gets her into.

Best,

Aran

When I tested this, Mail listed the "Sent" folder under "Mailboxes" instead of "On my Mac," but looking in [home directory] -> Library -> Mail -> Mailboxes I do see copies of newly sent mail being saved locally. If you do go this route, I'd be sure to setup some form backup as copies wouldn't be stored on the server.
