Do you by any chance use VirusScan? We saw numerous problems with it on shutdown, and released a new version that addressed the issue. Try installing the latest version, which can be downloaded from here:

If that doesn't fix your problem, you also might want to try re-installing the 10.5.5 update using the combo package as described in my previous note.
If you continue seeing panics, send me the panic reports and associated log files, and we'll look into it further.
