Hi Carolyn and All,
Thank you for reporting this. I have experienced a dramatic increase
in system instability since upgrading to 10.5.5. My MacBook Pro has
crashed about a dozen times, most times during shutdown. Any guidance
from the group and/or IS&T would be most appreciated.

Hi all,
Since returning from a 2 1/2 week absence on November 6, my Macintosh
has suffered from 5 system crashes. Before that I crashed on September
25. Before that I don't think I had ever crashed!
All 6 of the crashes are on the same Kernel which I think was
installed on Sept 16 with the update to 10.5.5 (see software update
log at the end of this email). The Kernel info:
Darwin Kernel Version 9.5.0: Wed Sep 3 11:29:43 PDT 2008;
root:xnu-1228.7.58~1/RELEASE_I386
2 days before starting my vacation I installed:
2008-10-16 10:29:57 -0400: Installed "Security Update 2008-007" (1.0)
Has anyone else experienced problems with these updates?
I'm attaching the log from my console messages just prior to the
system crash:
