[Macpartners] MS PowerPoint crashes with Mac OS 10.4.11

Dear MacPartners,

Just a heads up - in the last week we've run across 2 laptops  
experiencing PowerPoint crashing under Mac OS 10.4.11.  As soon as  
you try to run the slideshow, the application crashes.

On a MacBook, the other a MacBook Pro.

In one instance we rolled the computer back to 10.4.10, another  
individual installed OpenOffice just to get thru the presentation.

Several articles out there about this, none with any type of "pretty"  
fix.  Waiting to see a better solution to the problem posted.
