[Macpartners] Photo Booth not working after Leopard upgrade

If another application is already using the camera, you'll get a
black screen with a white "no camera" icon. If that's what you're
seeing, try quitting everything that uses the camera until the
camera's green LED is off, and then open PhotoBooth.

That doesn't sound like your problem though. With a little playing
around, I've been able to reproduce the behavior you describe. If I
rapidly shift-click on the "Effects" button, I can get into the state
you describe where the green LED is on but PhotoBooth itself shows an
all black camera view.

I can force PhotoBooth to go back to normal if I:
1. change to a four-up style photo (the middle choice in the
segmented control to the left of the picture-taking button)
2. click on the picture-taking button

When PhotoBooth is done taking four photos, it briefly displays a 3D
stylized preview of the 4-up in the main view. When it's done
displaying that preview, PhotoBooth shows the camera correctly again.

While that is not a long-term solution, I hope this works for your
computer as a stopgap measure until a more persistent solution can be
found. Hopefully 10.5.2 will solve the issue entirely.
