Good Morning:

IS&T is offering licenses for Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional through
the maintenance program for Acrobat licenses purchased in June
2003. Please inquire with your Software Liaison,
<http://web.mit.edu/ist/services/software/msca-osliaisons.html> as
they may have already registered for licenses for your department,
lab or center before proceeding to the terms and conditions.

Based on feedback from our software liaisons with regard to software
distribution, a website similar to that used for the Microsoft Campus
Agreement has been created that allows registration for Acrobat Pro 7
licenses, return Acrobat Pro 6 licenses and download installation
files for Windows and/or Mac OS X. You will receive e-mail almost
immediately following your order including license keys for Acrobat Pro 7.

Acrobat Pro 7 licenses and download can be obtained from the site
listed below. In order to provide the most value for MIT, please
limit your request to licenses for machines that need the full
version of Acrobat Professional. Please let us know how many of the
machines for which you are ordering Acrobat Pro 7 are upgrades from
Acrobat Pro 6 as well as any machines in your areas that had a
license for Acrobat Pro 6 that are no longer in use by filling in the
returned license field on the order form.

Acrobat licenses and downloads are limited to faculty and staff:
http://web.mit.edu/ist/products/vsls/ (require MIT Personal Certificates).

If you are going to install licenses on more than one machine, we
recommend that you download and copy the installation file(s) to
portable media such as CD-R, USB Flash drive or onto a network share
with the appropriately restrictive permissions.

Questions about installing and configuring Adobe Acrobat Professional
7 as well as the core functionality of generating a PDF document from
a Word document can be directed to the IS&T Computing Help Desk at
computing-help at mit.edu.

One known issue for the Windows installer is that you should extract
the zip files and then run setup.exe to avoid any problems with the
installation.
