[Macpartners] [OT] webhosts that allow alien domains through SMTP servers?

Hey Partners,

For years I've used the same email address with the domain name
alum.mit.edu, and I really don't want to have to change it. I've
always sent email through the SMTP servers of my web hosting company.
Recently my (now former) web hosting company installed new software
that prevents clients from sending email from domains they don't
control, putting a sudden and unexpected end to my ability to send
email from my home address.

Does anyone know of one or more web hosting companies (preferably Mac
oriented) that would allow me to send email through their SMTP
servers even though I don't rent the domain name of my email address?

I know I can give up my address & create a new one under a domain
name I rent. I just don't want to go through all the hassle of trying
to update all my current contacts, lists, etc.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm feeling pretty stuck.

Thanks,
Bill
