[Macpartners] Microsoft word on the mac

Hi,
the printer is an HP 4600 (color) with 3 trays. Most of the machines
that connect to it are macs (g4, OS X.2, Office X)
Let's just consider word documents.
98 out of 100 docs should be printed in black and white. The users
have asked me to have Word default to b/w printing. There is a
setting in word named standard. It will not let me modify it. Okay, I
make another setting called 'standard b/w'. I test it and it works.
It prints b/w. But I have not found a way to change it to the default
setting. So it is no better than a user selecting color options -->
'print color as grey' each and every time. In summary, I cannot
modify nor delete the standard setting and I cannot make a new
setting the default. I am assuming I just don't know how.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this?
(I was told of a way to set the printer to print black and white as a
default but there is no way to do it. The options are just not there,
not in the control panel, configurations,or preferences. It is not
there.)
thank you,
karen
