The Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College
Park, MD, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the
Assistant Professor level in Supply Chain Management within the Logistics,
Business & Public Policy (LBPP) Department, starting in Fall 2026 or Spring
2027. We are seeking candidates with a strong commitment to high-quality
research. We also expect the faculty member to play a key role in the
school’s academic programs at the Doctoral, Master’s, and Undergraduate
levels, in terms of teaching and leadership. Advanced Assistants with a
demonstrated record of publication in the top supply chain and operations
management journals are especially welcome to apply for this position.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Supply Chain Management, Operations
Management, Management Science, or a related field, be well trained in
empirical research and methods, and conduct top-level scholarly research in
supply chain management and related areas that align with the Smith
School’s strategic plan (https://www.rhsmith.umd.edu/about/strategic-plan).
The faculty member is expected to develop and deliver high-quality teaching
for supply chain related courses to undergraduates, MS, MBA, and /or PhD
students in the Logistics, Business & Public Policy (LBPP) Department (

The department features faculty members actively engaged in empirical
research in supply chain, logistics, and operations management, with
engagement and collaboration opportunities with faculty in other
departments, such as the Department of Decision, Operations & Information

).
