Dean of the College of Business
Michigan Technological University invites inquiries, applications, and
nominations for the position of dean of the College of Business. Reporting
to the provost, the dean is the chief academic and administrative officer
for the college. Building upon existing institutional strengths, the dean
should be a forward-thinking, innovative, and collaborative leader who
provides strategic leadership to take the College to even greater heights.
The dean will lead the College and work with other university
administrators, faculty, staff, and students to promote continued
excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Founded in 1885, Michigan Tech is an R1 flagship technological university
in the state of Michigan with more than $124 million in annual research
expenditures and eight interdisciplinary research institutes housing ten
more research centers. Located in Houghton, in the heart of Michigan’s
scenic Keweenaw Peninsula, the University attracts world-class faculty who
enrich the educational experience of smart, motivated, and adventurous
students. Michigan Tech is well known for its return on investment, with
our graduates earning the ninth highest median starting salary in the
country.
Michigan Tech is home to more than 7,400 students representing about 70
countries. The College of Business, which has grown for five consecutive
years, enrolls over 600 on-campus and online students across nine
undergraduate and four graduate programs, including accounting, business
analytics, construction management, economics, engineering management,
finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. Within
the University’s STEM-focused environment, the College prepares students
with strategic, analytical, and entrepreneurial skills through hands-on
learning experiences such as the Enterprise Program
