About the SCM Program and University
Weber State University has a long tradition of excellence in SCM.
Established as a logistics program in 1969, WSU’s supply chain program is
among the oldest SCM programs in the United States. A decade ago, the
school established the Jerry and Vickie Moyes Center for Supply Chain
Excellence with a multi-million-dollar endowment pledge from WSU alumnus
and transportation industry magnate, Jerry Moyes, and has built an active
industry advisory board. Our SCM students have won national supply chain
case competitions at Arizona State, Minnesota, and GM/Wayne State. Demand
for our students far exceeds our available graduates. Recruiters include
Amazon, Amer Sports, Autoliv, Boeing, DoD/Hill Air Force Base, Henkel,
Intermountain Health, Kimberly-Clark, L3Harris, Newell Brands, Northrop
Grumman, OC Tanner, Parker Hannifin, Swift Transportation/Logistics,
Toyota, and UPS, among others.

WSU maintains a small-school atmosphere even with its 25,000+ full and
part-time students and prides itself on quality teaching, commitment to
meeting the needs of students at every stage of life, and ongoing service
to the community. As a Carnegie Master’s University (M1), WSU complements
its 225+ undergraduate programs with 20 graduate programs including the
business school’s MBA, Master of Accounting, and Master of Taxation
programs. The Goddard School is committed to teaching and research
excellence as evidenced by its long-standing AACSB accreditation, and for
twenty years running has been named an outstanding business school by The
Princeton Review.

WSU occupies a beautiful campus nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch
Mountains in Ogden, Utah, and is 35 miles north of Salt Lake City
International Airport. With the university’s location at the top end of a
metropolitan area of 2 million population, one can choose to live in a
small city or in the center of a major economic and technology hub. Forbes
magazine has rated Utah as #1 Best State for Business multiple times and
rated Ogden among the 10 Best Cities for Raising a Family. National
Geographic also named Ogden as one of America’s best adventure towns. The
area offers year-round cultural events and outdoor recreational activities.
