The University of North Texas, Ryan College of Business, Department of Logistics and Operations Management invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor – Tenure Track position to support our MBA specialization in supply chain management as well as our Logistics, Aviation Logistics, and Operations Management undergraduate degrees.
The Department of Logistics, and Operations Management (LOM) is part of the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas. In 2021-22, the Ryan College of Business is celebrating its 75th year of existence and 59 consecutive years of AACSB accreditation. The department is dedicated to providing students with well-rounded, state-of-the-art education in the modern principles of logistics, operations, and supply chain management. We prepare our students for rewarding careers as practitioners and academics, with the help of innovative curriculum, dynamic programs, and research labs and centers. The department consists of 12 tenured-track and 6 non-tenured track faculty and offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees. Our faculty are characterized by excellence in teaching, outstanding basic and applied research, and leadership in professional organizations.
We seek an individual with substantial background and the ability to develop and teach face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses in two or more of the following areas: Logistics, Aviation Logistics, Operations Management, Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management. In addition to teaching and course development, duties will include an active research track in one or more of the areas listed above, service to the Department, University, and community; and maintaining accreditation required of UNT. The person hired into this position may teach classes online and at both the Denton and Frisco Texas locations of UNT, based on the needs of the department.
The successful candidate will be qualified for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor and possess a minimum of a Ph.D. in Logistics, Aviation Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Preferred qualifications include:
* Two to three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in Logistics, Purchasing, Operations Management and/or Supply Chain Decision/Analytics.
* Experience in handling course development and management activities related to making courses compliant with accessibility requirements.
* Handling large (75 or more) students in online sections, and working with teaching assistants in course management.
* Experience using the Canvas platform and multiple technical platforms and tools such as Zoom, Respondus, Packback, Microsoft Teams, Dropbox, GoogleCloud, GroupMe etc.
* Experience with developing and teaching synchronous and asynchronous online courses at the college level.
* Recent publications in key journals supporting logistics, operations, supply chain, aviation logistics or related fields.
* Professional association memberships, awards, and certifications.
* Preference will be given to candidates who can be counted as scholarly-active for accreditation purposes.
