It’s a pleasure to announce the next 12th International RIRL Conference on Logistics and SCM 22-23 may 2018 – PARIS.
AIRL-SCM - Association for International Research Logistics and Supply Chain Management – is organising 12th International RIRL Conference on Logistics and SCM
– which will take place on:
22-23 May 2018

Organised every two years, the RIRL bring together researchers from all over the world specialising in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) or interested in these topics. The conference also welcomes presentations by companies. Thus, it offers participants a stimulating transversal view of strategies and practices applied in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. A Doctoral Consortium will also be organised during the 2018 conference
CHANGING SUPPLY CHAINS FOR A DIGITAL WORLD
AIRL-SCM encourages participants to propose general and forward-looking contributions on this topic, which is however not exclusive. The scientific productions we expect may cover the issues described below, among others.
• What are the best logistics strategies for firms in a digital world?
• What new business models are inspired by digital developments?
• What is the impact of digital innovations (Big Data, GPS tracking platforms, connected objects, etc.) on logistics and supply chains?
• What developments are possible with regard to flow traceability, flexibility, responsiveness, and corporate and supply chain adaptability?
• What will procedures for modelling, planning optimisation, and logistics decision-making supports look like in the digital future?
• What share will the virtual and the physical take in digital supply chains?
• Risk management and resilience in digital supply chains
• Skills, training, and qualifications for logisticians (senior and middle managers and other staff) in the digital world
• The impact of digitalisation on e-commerce logistics?
• What logistics is required in a new, uberised, collaborative economy?
• Changes to the governance and performance of logistics firms inspired by digitalisation
• Impact of digitalisation on logistics service provision and its players
• Etc.
RIRL 2018 is obviously open to traditional topics in Logistics and Supply Chain Management research, such as (among others): logistics strategies; logistics collaboration, pooling, and outsourcing; supply networks; stock management; purchasing and procurement strategies; operations/production management and planning; distribution strategies; logistics and marketing; human resources in logistics; the role of transport; sustainable, equitable logistics; logistics for humanitarian, events, and hospital services; urban logistics; the logistics services industry, etc.
