Due to popular request the deadline for submissions to this PDW has been extended to July 4, 2016
Please see below the updated PDW information:
AOM Meeting, Anaheim 2016, August 5, from 9.00am-11.00am - OM and TIM Divisions
Do you have a draft paper in the broad fields of Operations Management (OM) or Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) that you plan to submit to a journal outside the main scholarly domain? Would you like to benefit from an in-depth developmental and constructive review by some of the leading scholars in the management field?
This PDW at the Academy of Management conference brings together researchers with the aim of submitting their papers to high quality management journals outside their main scholarly domain. The workshop aims to help in improving manuscripts prior to journal submission. The mentoring team consists of top scholars who are (or have formally served as) editors, associate editors or editorial advisory board members or have successfully published in top management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Research Policy, and Strategic Management Journal.
Confirmed mentors:
Gruber, Marc; ETH Zurich
Ketokivi, Mikko? IE Business School IE University
Laamanen, Tomi? University of St. Gallen
Laursen, Keld? Copenhagen Business School
Mantere, Saku; McGill University
Novelli, Elena? Cass Business School, City University London
Parmigiani, Anne? University of Oregon
Turner, Scott F.? University of South Carolina
Valentini, Giovanni? IESE Business School
Williams, Charles? Bocconi University
You will be paired with these experienced scholars to explore how your manuscript-in-progress could be refined to facilitate publication in your target journal. The best part is you get to discuss your work with your mentor face-to-face, with time to explain and clarify, before you commit to the rigors of blind review.
Acceptance to the workshop is competitive. The workshop is targeted for works-in-progress; submitted papers should not be in journal review process at the time of the submission or PDW but can be for example presented at AOM or another conference. Applicants should limit their submissions to 20-40 pages including references, tables, figures and so forth. Manuscripts should NOT be anonymized, but include a title page with authors' names and affiliations. You may also indicate your thoughts on a target journal on the title page.
Applicants should submit their paper to the organizing team by July 4, 2016. Notification of acceptance will be given by July 8, 2016. Once a paper is accepted, it will be assigned to one or two mentors who will have comments ready for feedback and discussion in the session.
Pre-registration is required for this workshop and an approval code will be sent upon manuscript acceptance.
Please send your manuscript by July 4, 2016 to: lydia.bals at hs-mainz.de<mailto:lydia.bals at hs-mainz.de>.
The workshop is scheduled for Friday, August 5th, 2016, from 9.00am to 11.00am at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Plaza A.
