Director, Center for Operational Analysis


 

The Department of Operational Sciences at the Air Force Institute of
Technology invites applications for the Director of the Center for
Operational Analysis (COA).  This is a non-tenure track position with a
renewable 3 year term appointment at the rank of Research Assistant,
Research Associate, or Research Full Professor.  Candidates should possess
an earned doctorate degree in Operations Research, Logistics Management,
Industrial Engineering, Management Science, or a related field at the time
of employment.  The Department seeks applicants who have prior experience in
leadership roles, combined with outstanding records of extramural funding.  

 

The Director provides vision and leadership to advance the COA towards being
a world-class research center conducting defense-focused analysis in
operations research and supply chain management.  Successful applicants must
have a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research, multidisciplinary
collaboration, and fostering and expanding interactions between faculty
within the school and with Department of Defense agencies.  Rank and salary
are commensurate with qualifications.

 

About the Center:  The Center for Operational Analysis (

logistic research that directly impacts the Air Force and the Department of
Defense. We accomplish this mission through faculty technical knowledge,
student driven research, and contractor expertise.  The center maintains
close working ties with our research sponsors and affiliates who provide the
subject matter expertise to truly understand the operational challenges. In
a time when the Air Force and the Department of Defense are looking for
improved efficiencies and greater effectiveness, the COA provides a means to
achieve these results.

 

The majority of participating faculty work in the Department of Operational

department offers world-class MS and PhD programs in Operations Research and
Logistics & Supply Chain Management as well as several Distance Learning
certificates.
