Assistant Professor of Transportation & Logistics
Coggin College of Business
University of North Florida
The Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida (UNF) seeks nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Transportation & Logistics, at the level of an Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2012 (position #331290). The position is located in the Department of Marketing & Logistics, and part of the university’s flagship program in Transportation & Logistics.
The successful candidate for this position will have a Ph.D. with a major or minor emphasis in Logistics or a related discipline in hand by 8/1/12. The selected candidate must be prepared to teach core courses in the Transportation & Logistics major, including lecture sections of Fundamentals of Transportation, IT/IS Applications in logistics, and additional logistics courses. As the program at UNF emphasizes IT applications to logistics, knowledge of relevant IT/IS-related applications is strongly preferred. The successful candidate is expected to infuse such software in his/her teaching curriculum/portfolio and to have superior teaching capabilities. Evidence supporting high quality teaching must be provided.
The successful candidate will have a strong empirical and theoretical background and be able to demonstrate excellent research skills. She or he should also have an interest in further advancing a nationally recognized program in logistics, and in furthering the development of the field through research and publication. Evidence of an active program of quality peer-reviewed research in transportation / logistics must be provided. A well-developed international perspective is preferred. The Coggin College features strong faculty in areas such as strategic sourcing, distribution, operations, marketing channels, and customer relationship management, and opportunities exist for cross-disciplinary research.
