Please distribute the following position announcement in logprofs. Thank you for your assistance. Terry
The University of North Texas (UNT) has embarked on a major multi-year initiative to make major research infrastructure improvements. UNT seeks to fill multiple positions, most at the senior level to join with existing faculty to capitalize on research strengths in strategically selected areas. One area selected for such investment is logistics management.
In this context, UNT seeks an outstanding scholar for a faculty position in the broad areas of logistics, transportation, or supply chain management. The position is at the Professor rank, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. We particularly seek candidates with a distinguished record of research accomplishments who complement existing strengths of the UNT Logistics and Supply Chain Management program (http://www.logistics.unt.edu).
The faculty member hired in this position will conduct interdisciplinary research focused in logistics with faculty in the Departments of Marketing and Logistics, Management, and Information Technology and Decision Sciences as well as faculty in the Colleges of Public Administration and Community Service, Engineering, and Arts and Sciences. Based on their particular expertise, the successful candidate will be housed in a
department within the College of Business, but may have a joint appointment in several departments or Colleges.
An earned doctorate in Logistics or closely related field in business is required. Candidates must have a record of scholarship in logistics, as demonstrated through extramural funding and publications. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in logistics with applications in the areas of supply chain design and architecture, transportation planning, emergency management, or supply chain/logistics engineering. A successful record of mentoring graduate students and teaching is highly desired.
All applicants must apply by visiting facultyjobs.unt.edu; search for Logistics. Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue until the search is closed.
UNT has over 36,000 students registered in 97 bachelors, 101 masters and 48 doctoral degree programs and more than 7,700 students at the graduate level. UNT is strategically located in Denton, Texas which is 35 miles north of the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. This dynamic urban area has more than six million people with significant economic growth, numerous industrial establishments, and excellent school
districts. UNT has recently embarked on a 10-year research strategic plan to reach tier one status, and is one of seven universities designated by the State as an "Emerging Research University." UNT is an AA/ADA/EOE institution.
