The University of Kentucky announces  a postdoctoral position  for a highly motivated individual with an interest in sustainable manufacturing and sustainable supply chain management. The position is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Center for Manufacturing at the University of Kentucky and will require working closely with a team of faculty and students from the College of Engineering, College of Business & Economics and the Center for Manufacturing.



The successful candidate must have a background in engineering and business, be knowledgeable about sustainable manufacturing, systems engineering and, preferably have a background in supply chain management. Knowledge of advanced probability theory, Graph Theory, Bayesian Belief Network modeling, etc., will be a definite plus. Computer programming skills (C++, Java or Visual Basic, etc.,) are essential. The candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and have authored publications in related areas. A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Operations Research or a related discipline is a requirement for the position while a background in business (an MBA) is a definite plus. Preference will be given to U.S. Citizens (however, eligible non-citizens are encouraged to apply) and background checks will be required prior to any offer of employment.



The successful candidate will be involved in conducting research related to the Sustainable Supply Chain Management research projects, mentoring graduate students, preparing proposals, writing journal papers/conference presentations and managing all aspects of these projects.



Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is an immediate vacancy and applications will be considered until the position in filled.
