Announces the 2009 Dissertation Award Competition for Promising  
Research in

System Design for Reliability, Maintainability, and Supportability;

Logistics Systems and Maintenance; Business Logistics; and Supply  
Chain Management




The 2009 SOLE Dissertation Award provides a $3,000 grant to a Ph.D.  
candidate and recognition by the Society through publication of an  
article in the SOLE Logistics Spectrum based on the completed  
dissertation.

We ask that you encourage qualified Ph.D. candidates in your program  
(or related programs) to apply.  The student provides a one-page  
application plus a five-page response to two questions.  Statements of  
support from two faculty members are required.  These materials can be  
obtained from Stan Griffis using the email address below.


To be eligible, the individual must be admitted to candidacy for the  
Ph.D. with a research proposal approved by his or her doctoral  
committee.  The award will be presented at the SOLE 2009 Symposium in  
Orlando Florida, scheduled from 18-20 August 2009.

Applications and supporting documentation must be received by 24 April  
2009.
