Hello:
Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a selective university with some 23,000+ full time undergrads/grad students and 3000 College of Business students, is recruiting for two positions in the Dept of Marketing for Fall of 2009 per attached official job description. There is a possibility, depending on candidates, that one of these two positions could be filled with a Marketing/Logistics person that would have a Logistics focus and teach some Marketing and some Logistics. The Department currently has an Emphasis in Logistics within the Marketing Major with 70 students that is three years old and growing. Current regularly scheduled courses include Logistics, Transportation, International Logistics, and Retailing. The College also has a separate Management Major with an Operations Emphasis with 6 courses. The College is in the process of seeking expected 2008 approval for a new SCM Major that will combine these programs. See the SCM/Logistics/Operations web page at www.gvsu.edu/scblogistics for info on programs. Grand Rapids and western Michigan are home to a large number of employers with major logistics operations, interest in relationships with faculty, and a need for logistics students. Interested candidates should apply as specified in the attached official position notice which is the sole document governing this position and application procedures. Interested candidates should also consider attending the AMA summer meetings where the search committee will be interviewing.
