Position Announcement

Assistant / Associate Professor of Supply Chain Management
College of Business
Auburn University

Auburn University's College of Business in Auburn, Alabama has an opening for a qualified, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor in Supply Chain Management for Fall Semester, 2007. This position is affiliated with our SCM program that will bring together the logistics and operations management majors. This unified undergraduate major is expected to generate more than 100 graduates annually with significant future expansion anticipated. A three-course SCM concentration is also offered in the MBA program.  The SCM faculty consists of ten tenured, tenure-track, and professionally qualified faculty members. Auburn University has accredited undergraduate, EMBA, MBA, and Management PhD programs.

Applicants must have an earned doctorate in business administration or management with a concentration in supply chain management, operations, logistics, transportation, or procurement. Additional qualifications include:
 
- Strong supply chain oriented research record appropriate to applicant’s career stage, evidenced by publications in leading academic journals. 
- Sustained record of excellence in teaching and the ability to teach a variety of SCM courses.
- Industry/professional experience in supply chain management is highly desired.
- The selected candidate will be required to meet eligibility requirements to work in the U.S. on the date the appointment is scheduled to begin.
- Candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English.

Given these qualifications, our goal is to hire a senior assistant or associate professor.

Successful applicants will be expected to maintain a productive research program, advise and mentor students, and support a growing program. Teaching responsibilities will focus on undergraduate courses with future opportunities at the MBA level. Successful applicants will be required to contribute to the service and outreach needs of this program, including interaction with professional organizations and developing relationships within supply chain communities. 

Review of application materials will begin October 15, 2006 and will continue until a qualified candidate is selected and recommended for appointment. Auburn University SCM faculty will attend the Supply Chain Management Educators Conference and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
