MIT LHS Hiatus during IAP

Hello and warm wishes to you all for the new year!

It is currently MIT's Independent Activities Period (IAP) in which regular
classes are suspended and the MIT community typically celebrates with a bit
of a break, fun classes, independent studies, or, like me, playing some
catch-up on research. Typically we would resume dancing in IAP as we were
optimistically forecasting last semester, however, based on MIT and federal
guidelines about Covid and an abundance of caution, *we will be suspending
our dances until the spring semester, *at which point we will reassess.

However, there are still ways to be involved with LHS this month! --

   1. We are currently *recruiting student leaders* to join our
   coordination team responsible for scheduling dances and dance spaces,
   interfacing with MIT admin, teaching (or finding teachers for) dances,
   crafting announcements, and so on. *Interested students should contact

   for more information!
   2. We are hoping to use some of this down time to update our virtual
   presence, starting with crafting a new website/overhauling our current
   website. *Anyone interested in being involved with website
   design/implementation/updating/feedback, etc. *is welcome. Please email
