<div dir="ltr"><div>Hello and warm wishes to you all for the new year!</div><div><br></div><div>It is currently MIT's Independent Activities Period (IAP) in which regular classes are suspended and the MIT community typically celebrates with a bit of a break, fun classes, independent studies, or, like me, playing some catch-up on research. Typically we would resume dancing in IAP as we were optimistically forecasting last semester, however, based on MIT and federal guidelines about Covid and an abundance of caution, <b>we will be suspending our dances until the spring semester, </b>at which point we will reassess. <br></div><div><br></div><div>However, there are still ways to be involved with LHS this month! -- <br></div><div><ol><li>We are currently <b>recruiting student leaders</b> to join our coordination team responsible for scheduling dances and dance spaces, interfacing with MIT admin, teaching (or finding teachers for) dances, crafting announcements, and so on. <b>Interested students should contact <a href="mailto:lindy-society-officers@mit.edu">lindy-society-officers@mit.edu</a> (CC'd)</b> for more information! <br></li><li>We are hoping to use some of this down time to update our virtual presence, starting with crafting a new website/overhauling our current website. <b>Anyone interested in being involved with website design/implementation/updating/feedback, etc. </b>is welcome. Please email <a href="mailto:lindy-society-officers@mit.edu">lindy-society-officers@mit.edu</a> (CC'd) if interested!</li></ol><div>Kindly,</div><div>Victoria Preston<br></div></div></div>
