Adam from the Harvard Swing Kids writes:
Hey Swing Dancers!
Just a reminder that the Harvard Swing Kids, Harvard's swing/lindy
society, is hosting its December/Holiday dance this Wednesday,
December 5. Due to a last-minute rescheduling by Harvard facilities,
we are unable to hold the dance this week in our usual location
(Holden Chapel) - rather, the dance will be held in Richards Hall.
Directions to Richards are included in the attached flyer.
As last month, the dance is co-hosted by the MIT Lindy Hop Society
and the Dudley Arts Council, and there will be a *FREE* (yes, free)
introductory swing/lindy lesson by the famous Nina Current from 8-9
pm. There will be open dancing for all levels afterwards until
11:30 pm. The dance is an inter-university event (Harvard, MIT,
Tufts, and more) so everyone is welcome - feel free to invite
friends.
Location: Richards Hall on Harvard's Cambridge campus (behind
Maxwell Dworkin Hall at 33 Oxford Street, Cambridge MA, and adjacent
to Harvard Law School and Harkness Commons). See the flyer at
http://mit.edu/swing/harvard/swingkids_flyer_12_2007.pdf for
detailed directions.
Hope to see you there!

Next week, December 12 and 19 (and maybe beyond), Nina and
Dan will teach an intermediate-level Lindy Hop class. If
you already know the Lindy Hop swing-out and want to learn
more, they will teach you more! (Please do not attend this
class if you do not already know the Lindy Hop basic swing
out.)
During MIT's Independent Activities Period, (January 9, 16,
23, 30), Andrea and Lauren will teach RAVISHING RED HOT
LINDY: "Being a beginner dancer doesn't have to keep you in
your dorm room. We'll put an end to those cold, lonely
winter nights, in January. Andrea and Lauren will be your 4
weeks of redheaded fun, on the dancefloor. This class will
introduce you to Lindy Hop and Charleston. Both of these
energetic partnered dances were created in the 1940s to Big
Band and Jazz music."
Weeks 1 & 2 will teach Lindy Hop basics.
Week 3 will teach Charleston basics.
Week 4 will meld Lindy and Charleston and give you some extra snazzy moves.
**Each class will build on the previous week.
**Starting from Week 1 is recommended, but not required.

P.S.:
Saturday, December 8: Dudley House Winter Waltz, Harvard.
"Once a year Dudley transforms itself into a winter
wonderland and bathes itself in barely recognizable graduate
students spinning and swirling away to the live ecstasy of
the Dudley House Orchestra."
