Please we need your support Tomorrow 7 PM, Wednesday August 9, at St. George 
in West Roxbury. We will have a big Community meeting in order to organize and 
mobilize. Every Concerned person should make sure to call at least Ten 
Others. We need to reach out to the ones who do not have e-mail addresses. Please

The Supplication Service to the Most Holy Theotokos
For Those Suffering in Lebanon
Wednesday, 9 August at 7 p.m.
St. George Orthodox Church
55 Emmonsdale Road, West Roxbury



The Supplication Service is offered for the welfare of the living, especially 
those who are suffering and oppressed. It is addressed to the Most Holy 
Theotokos or a Saint whose intercessions are sought through the chanting of 
supplicatory prayers and other hymns. The most popular Supplication Service is that 
in which the prayers and hymns are addressed to the Most Holy Mother of God for 
a special intention.
The Supplicatory Hymns to the Most Holy Theotokos was authored by 
Theosterictus the Monk (9th century), and prayed in Constantinople during times of 
invasion, siege  and civil strife.  It has been prayed since then as a comfort 
during times of civil unrest. 
On Wednesday, we will offer these prayers and hymns for the restoration of 
peace and on behalf of the innocent victims who are suffering in Lebanon.  
Commemoration of the local Saints of the region will be made.  Special prayers will 
be included for the memory of those who died in the current conflict.
