Subject: Thank Members of Congress for Honoring the "Life and Legacy of Rafik Hariri"

On February 14, 2005, Arab American Congressman Nick Rahall (D-WV) introduced House Resolution 91 "Honoring the Life and Legacy of Former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri." Among the resolutions 28 cosponsors are Arab American Congressmen Darrell Issa (R-CA), Ray LaHood (R-IL), and Charles Boustany (R-LA).

The resolution hails Hariri as "a leader and public servant" honoring his mediation role as a "primary architect of the 1989 Taif Accords, which put an end to the Lebanese civil war" and singular dedication to the "economic development and post-war reconstruction of Lebanon."

The resolution "reaffirms the right of the people of Lebanon to choose their leaders in a manner that is free of intimidation, terror, and foreign occupation" and "urges all members of the international community to facilitate any investigation into this terrorist attach and help bring the perpetrators to justice."

House Resolution 91 passed on February 17, 2005 with a vote of 409-0. It is important that your Representative hear from you. Thank your member for cosponsoring or affirming H Res 91.
