Yeah. I'd assume without rtl, you'd want plugins to be a single shared object (not an archive) with a .so extension. The patch was integrated because someone adding AIX 5 support claimed that on AIX 5 you really wanted to use .so and rtl. That seemed really funny to me, but my AI X experience stopped at 4.3.3. --Sam
