compiling MIT kerberos KDC for windows

I have downloaded kfw-2.5 and it compiled fine on my Windows XP home
edition, but it contained only the kerberos client side.
I need to set up the MIT KDC on a windows platform, for development
purposes.
I have been able to compile the KDC using cygwin, but it is not working.
has anyone tried this and succeeded, or has any idea how I might get this to
work?
